Text: Exodus 33:13-15
Theme: I Will Be With You Always
Topic: The Promise of His Presence
Introduction
Life is filled with challenges—danger, persecution, and even death. Believers face trials daily, yet Jesus reassures His followers with the promise of His constant presence: "I will be with you always." This promise brings hope, security, and peace to all who trust in Him.
The Importance Of God’s Presence
Moses understood the significance of God’s presence in ensuring protection and success during the Israelites' journey. He refused to move forward without God’s assurance of His presence (Exodus 33:13-15). For every believer, God’s presence is the key to victory and a life of confidence.
Experiencing God’s Presence
1. Knowing God First (Luke 15:3-7; Romans 10:14-15)
To enjoy God’s presence, we must first know Him. This begins with a personal relationship, facilitated by hearing and accepting the Gospel.
2. Pursuing God’s Presence (Psalm 5:3; Mark 1:35)
A daily relationship with God is essential to experiencing His presence fully. Jesus modeled this by spending time in prayer, seeking solitude to connect with the Father.
3. Empowered Evangelism (Acts 1:8)
God’s presence empowers believers to boldly share the Gospel. Just as the disciples received power at Pentecost, God equips us today through His Holy Spirit to fulfill His mission.
4. Holiness and God’s Presence (1 Peter 1:15-16; 1 Cor. 6:20)
A holy life invites God’s presence. Impurity and sin hinder fellowship with Him, but living in holiness ensures a strong connection with our holy God.
The Power of God’s Presence
Moses experienced the transformative power of God’s presence, which revealed His glory and set Moses apart (Exodus 33:12-23; 34:29-35). Similarly, God’s presence in our lives empowers us to overcome fear, face challenges, and experience breakthroughs.
Application
God’s presence equips us to:
- Triumph over fear and adversity.
- Succeed and achieve breakthroughs in life.
- Evangelize effectively with boldness.
As we embrace God’s presence, we are set apart for His glory and empowered to live victoriously. "Let us seek Him daily, live in holiness, and walk in the assurance of His promise: ‘I will be with you always.’”
