Text: 1 Corinthians 7:1
Topic: The Road to Holiness

Introduction:
Today, we gather to delve into the sacred concept of holiness. Holiness, as defined by scripture, signifies separation from the ways of the world unto the ways of God. It is a conscious decision to distance ourselves from anything that may hinder our acceptance before the Almighty.

Understanding Holiness:
To embark on the journey of holiness, we must first grasp the fundamental truth that God is holy, and He calls us to emulate His holiness. Without holiness, scripture tells us, none can behold the face of God. This pursuit involves not only the purification of our bodies but also the sanctification of our minds.

Steps to a Holy Living:
1. Take off the Shoes of the World: Just as Moses was instructed to remove his sandals before the burning bush, symbolizing reverence and separation from the ordinary, we too must shed the trappings of worldly living. This entails renouncing the values, desires, and pursuits that contradict God's standard of holiness.

2. Accepting Christ as Your Savior: Central to the journey of holiness is the acceptance of Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. Through His atoning sacrifice, we find redemption from sin and the empowerment to walk in righteousness.

3. Doing Exactly What God Requires of You: Holiness is not a passive state but an active pursuit. It involves obedience to the will and commandments of God. As we align our actions with His divine standards, we manifest the holiness He desires from His children.

Conclusion:
Scripture unequivocally declares that without holiness, no one can see the Lord. While the path to holiness may seem daunting, let us remember that God promises to be our guide and strength along the way. Let us, therefore, earnestly seek Him in our quest for holiness, knowing that He is faithful to empower and enable us.

Prayer:
Let us bow our heads in prayer. Heavenly Father, we acknowledge our inability to attain holiness on our own. We humbly seek Your assistance, knowing that only through Your grace and empowerment can we walk in the path of righteousness. Grant us the strength, wisdom, and determination to pursue holiness diligently, that we may bring glory and honor to Your name. In Jesus' name, we pray, amen.
