Topic: Be Holy Because His Resurrection is Our Hope

Text: Mark 16:1-6; Luke 24:4-6

Introduction:

Hope, defined as the feeling of expectation and desire that things will happen, drives our actions and plans. Just as people invest in insurance for unforeseen events, our hope extends to securing a better future not only for ourselves but for generations to come. Synonyms of hope include anticipation, trust, aspiration, optimism, and expectation.

Sermon:

In the early hours of the third day after Jesus' death, three women approached His tomb with spices. Despite their fear about who would roll away the stone covering the tomb, they pressed on. Many of us face similar obstacles in life – struggles that cover our paths to fulfilling our purpose and mission. These obstacles may manifest as sickness, sinful lifestyles, or even relationships. However, just as the women discovered, God is willing to remove these stumbling blocks for us. He invites us to approach Him with our fears and cries, trusting that He will handle every obstacle that challenges our pursuit of holy living. With faith in Him, victory is assured.

Conclusion:

As we reflect on the resurrection of Jesus Christ, let us remember that His victory over death is our ultimate hope. By entrusting our fears and obstacles to Him, we can live holy lives, knowing that He has already overcome the world. Amen.
