Introduction

Every religion teaches its followers about their faith and beliefs according to its doctrines. In light of this, COCIN has dedicated the year 2025 to deepening its members' understanding of Jesus Christ. The goal is for every believer to truly know Christ—not just in name, but in a personal and transformative way.

During His ministry, Jesus traveled from city to city, preaching, teaching, healing, and delivering people. As He approached Jerusalem, He asked His disciples, “Who do people say that I am?” (Matthew 16:13). This question was not just for information but to challenge them to reflect on their personal knowledge of Him.

What Does It Mean to Know Christ?

Knowing Christ is more than just acknowledging His name—it is about:

1. Confessing and Accepting Him – Making Him your personal Lord and Savior.

2. Studying God’s Word – Devoting time to reading and understanding the Bible.

3. Obedience to His Will – Aligning your life with His teachings.

Hosea 4:6 warns, “My people are being destroyed because they don’t know me.” This highlights the danger of ignorance. Only by truly knowing Christ can we experience the fullness of His power and presence.

The Evidence of Knowing Christ

Galatians 5:22-23 describes the fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. When someone has genuinely encountered Christ, their life will reflect these attributes. Transformation is inevitable for those who walk closely with Him.

The Power of Christ

1. Authority Over the Enemy – Jesus has given power to those who follow Him, enabling them to do even greater works (Luke 9:1-2).

2. Supremacy Over All Powers – While the enemy may have power, it ultimately fails before the supreme power of Christ.

Conclusion

As believers, our greatest desire should be to know Christ more deeply. This requires dedicating our lives to Him, committing to His Word, and walking in obedience. The more we know Him, the more we experience His power at work in our lives. The question remains: Who do you say Jesus is?
