A heartwarming story recently unfolded involving a young boy selling groundnuts to FCMB footballers who were about to play a novelty match. The Managing Director (MD) of FCMB was in attendance, and the atmosphere was filled with joy and excitement. The footballers called the boy over and asked to purchase all his groundnuts. After he handed over the groundnuts, they asked him the price. The boy responded that the total cost was N2,100.00k.

The FCMB Group CEO Ladi Balogun, instructed his Personal Assistant (PA) to give the boy N10,000.00k. However, the boy refused, stating that he could not explain to his mother where he got N10,000.00k instead of N2,100.00k. He insisted that his mother would not accept the extra money.

Moved by the boy's honesty, Ladi took the money back and asked the boy to bring his mother. The mother, afraid and in tears, came to meet Ladi. He explained what had happened and expressed how impressed he was with the boy's upbringing. As a result of the boy's integrity, he was awarded a scholarship.

This boy's father had passed away, and he was being raised by his mother alongside his other siblings. Despite their challenging circumstances, he held firmly to the values instilled by his family.
