Introduction
Consecration is essential in the Christian faith. Jesus is coming back one day, and being consecrated is what will qualify us to see Him. The concept of consecration requires that we fully dedicate ourselves to God. Sin hinders us from accessing God, making consecration even more critical.
Consecration is not just a ritual or a momentary decision; it is a continuous process of dedicating oneself to God. According to 2 Timothy 2:20-21, being consecrated means being a vessel of honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work. This dedication goes beyond mere words; it demands a life that reflects God's holiness and righteousness.
To live a consecrated life, 2 Timothy 2:22-23 provides practical steps:
1. Flee evil desires: Actively avoid situations and temptations that lead to sin.
2. Pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace: Cultivate virtues that reflect God's character in every aspect of life.
3. Do not engage in unless talks: Steer clear of arguments that lead to strife and division, focusing instead on fostering unity and love.
4. Be kind to everyone.
5. Correct people gently.
Living in holiness here on earth is imperative for anyone who desires to live in eternity with God in heaven. This demand for righteous living is rooted in God's divine love, demonstrated through Christ's redemption and the gift of the Holy Spirit as our guide. May we consistently allow Him to lead us into paths of righteousness daily, embodying the principles of consecration in our lives. Let us commit to being vessels of honor, fully dedicated to the Master's use, and prepared for every good work. Amen.
