Emphasizing the timeless value of agriculture, the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) LCC Yelwa Tsakani dedicated today’s Sunday service to praying for a prosperous farming season. The service, led by Rev. Emmanuel I. Balere, brought the congregation together to seek divine blessings for the 2024 farming efforts.
Rev. Balere highlighted the significance of farming, quoting, "farming is our wisest pursuit because it will in the end contribute most to real wealth, good morals, and happiness," and, "farming is the most healthful, most useful, and most noble employment of man."
In a symbolic gesture of faith and hope, eight ward leaders from the Church’s wards—Bege, Salama, Kaunan, and Alheri—presented farming implements and seeds of guinea corn, rice, and groundnuts for prayer. Representing the entire congregation, they sought God’s favor for a bountiful harvest season.
Rev. Balere led the prayer, asking the Lord to bless the seeds and tools, and to reward His children with a bumper harvest. He implored God to grant favour and ensure a blissful farming season, reinforcing the congregation's reliance on divine providence for their farming success.
The service underscored the Church’s commitment to integrating faith with practical endeavors, reflecting the deep connection between spiritual devotion and farming prosperity.
